This is an open call for applications for 5 participants (residents and citizens) from Austria between 18 and 30 years old for a fully funded Youth Exchange in Vienna, Austria from Sunday 15.05 (arrival day) to Sunday 22.05 2022 (departure day).
A Youth Exchange is a meeting of groups of young people from different countries who gather for a short period to participate in a non-formal learning programme (a mix of workshops, exercises, debates, role-plays, simulations, outdoor activities, etc.). With the support of experienced youth workers, participants in a youth exchange can develop competences, become aware of socially relevant topics, discover new cultures, and strengthen values like solidarity, democracy, etc.
This call is for the Youth Exchange "Plant the Future" that will be implemented in Vienna, Austria from Sunday 15.05 (arrival day) to Sunday 22.05.2022 (departure day). This youth exchange brings together 28 motivated young people from Austria, Greece, Portugal and Romania. The main focus is on the development of knowledge and skills around sustainability, food, nutrition, and mental health for young people. The youth exchange covers 3 main topics: Theoretical knowledge of sustainable food systems, Practical skills of urban agriculture, & Emotional-cognitive of mental health practices.
Increaseing the understanding of the environmental impact of agriculture and food industry;
Development of practical ability to tend to and care for edible plants;
Creating objectives and a step-by-step plan for routine improvements;
Empowerment to take personal action and engage the local community;
Impact of holistic management of mental health on climate anxiety and motivation;
Deeper emotional connection with and understanding of nature;
Communication and intercultural understanding.

Once accepted, you will sign the participation agreement, and fill in the application form;
Then you prepare with the other participants from Austria,
All meals during the training are covered. The training will take place at the Jugendgästehaus Brigittenau in 20th district.
People from outside of Vienna will be refined for their transportation, and will be provided with accommodation.
